Relax, Deepak Chopra's Leela is Coming to Kinect

It's easy to relax hands-free

We first heard of this truly unlikely collaboration back at E3: Deepak Chopra, author of nearly 60 books on spirituality and meditation, is working with THQ, a publisher known for calm, measured games like Saints Row and Homefront. The fruit of this bizarre team-up is Deepak Chopra's Leela, an "interactive journey of the mind and body" for Kinect, due out in.. Continue Reading »

News: Microsoft and More Sued for Kinect Patent Infringement

Microsoft and More Sued for Kinect Patent Infringement

Acting on Impulse?

US firm Impulse Technology has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft, alleging Kinect for Xbox 360 infringes on seven Impulse patents. The plaintiff wants a permanent injunction against Microsoft — which would necessitate an internal redesign of Kinect — as well as damages and "treble damages", which just sounds greedy, really. According to Impulse, Kinect infringes.. Continue Reading »

That's why the skeletal shooter will come with a free download for Fruit Ninja Kinect for a cut price. Confirmed for a European release of 16th September, two of Kinect's more promising titles will.. News: Lionhead Toning Down Fable's Adult Humour in The Journey

Lionhead Toning Down Fable's Adult Humour in The Journey

So no prostitute threesomes?

Fable is as famous for its bawdy sense of humour as its morality choice-filled gameplay, but with Fable: The Journey on Kinect the series is heading down a more family-friendly path, according to lead artist Tak Saito. Saito made the pronouncement at the recent Develop Conference in Brighton, with some of the games' trademark dark humour ditched: Because our game is.. Continue Reading »

First Impressions: Raving Rabbids: Alive and Kicking

Raving Rabbids: Alive and Kicking

Welcome bwaaa-ck

Kinect's advanced innards should make augmented reality easy, but so far we've only seen the mediocre Fantastic Pets combine live video with computer graphics. Ubisoft's preparing itself to have a go now with Raving Rabbids: Alive and Kicking, a collection of minigames, microgames and sections probably best described as 'toys'. The premise behind the game is that the ever-crazy.. Continue Reading »

Go On a Fitness Adventure with Jillian Michaels

More Kinect adventures

Jillian Michaels is really working herself into a video game-related frenzy these days: she's already appeared on The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout and later this year her buns of steel will be challenging you to push yourself to your limits (we assume) in Jillian Michaels' Fitness Adventure. Rather than put you in a smelly gym, the game puts you through your paces in a new.. Continue Reading »

Pre-Order Halo Anniversary and Dress as Master Chief

It's good to have a hobby

What we can tell you is that if you pre-order the game you'll receive exclusive content to make your Xbox just a little more Halo-y. For starters, you'll receive a Master Chief armour suit for your Avatar, something we're truly surprised hasn't made it to the Marketplace.. Continue Reading »

Nyko Zoom for Kinect Hits Europe in August

Zooming in

The green-eyed monster is making its way to Europe, as the Nyko Zoom for Kinect is down for release next month according to retail sources speaking to MCV. First Impressions: The Black Eyed Peas Experience

The Black Eyed Peas Experience

Rock that body

Michael Jackson: The Experience was a pretty good attempt at bringing the King of Pop to the living room, but the Black Eyed Peas are a totally different undertaking: whereas the MJ game put you in Michael's shoes in his legendary live shows and music videos, in The Black Eyed Peas Experience you don't play as Will.i.am, Fergie or the other two. Instead you play a dance tutor, facing.. Continue Reading »

First Impressions: Just Dance 3

Just Dance 3

Get on the floor!

Until now Harmonix has undoubtedly had the Kinect dancing market all sewn up, but that dominance will meet its sternest challenge yet in October when Ubisoft brings the astonishingly successful Just Dance brand across to Xbox 360 in the luridly coloured form of Just Dance 3. At first glance, very little has changed from its Wii predecessor. The graphics are significantly sharper.. Continue Reading »

Speedo Signs Up for Michael Phelps Promotion

Free giveaway, perhaps?

Swimwear king Speedo and video games... an unlikely partnership at best. This is what Kinect is all about, though: making the previously impossible — or perhaps inadvisable — possible. That's the case with a new deal between Michael Phelps: Push the Limit publisher 505 Games and Speedo, anyway. The promotional partnership means players will see plenty of Speedo..
