Today Capcom announced a collaboration with Mamoru Oshii, the award winning director behind Ghost in the Shell and Avalon. The renowned director has created a short live-action film entitled Steel Battalion Heavy Armor: Gosha to tie in with the release of the Xbox 360 exclusive, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor.

Steel Battalion Heavy Armor: Gosha focuses on Polish Vertical Tank pilot Gosha who, like Sgt. Powers from the game, commands her own VT squad. Follow Gosha as she goes to war, but it’s not just a war between global factions, but also the conflict that exists among those under her command.

Set in 2082, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor depicts a world devoid of computers, where war is waged with rudimentary weapons as new superpowers struggle for dominance. In this low-tech era there is one weapon class that will determine the course of the war – the Vertical Tank. Players take on the role of VT pilot Sgt. Powers as the battle to regain the United States from Chinese occupation begins.

The full film Steel Battalion Heavy Armor Gosha will be released online before Steel Battalion Heavy Armor ships on 19 June in the USA and on 22 June in European territories.
