Say what you like about Kinect's catalogue of games: the technology itself is still impressive, and the readers of technology magazine T3 agree, having recently voted it Gadget of the Year.

Around 960,000 votes were cast in the awards, with Microsoft's sensor netting the coveted top prize over Nintendo's 3DS, the iPhone 4, Amazon Kindle and PlayStation Move.

It also grabbed Gaming Gadget of the Year, again beating 3DS and Move as well as PlayStation 3, iPad 2 and the Alienware M17x laptop.

Do you agree that Kinect's the best overall gadget of the last year? Sound off below!

Yes, awesome gadget, unfortunately, a plethora of dismal games. Games like Dance Central, Fruit Ninja, The Gunstringer and Child of Eden has shown that there is nothing wrong with the technical aspects of the Kinect controller. But it's a shame that the standard and tracking abilities of now the majority of releases make this look like a gimmick.

The technology is nothing short of amazing; the experience of setting it up and navigating the menus just by moving my hand as well as being signed into Xbox Live because KINECT RECOGNIZED MY FACE is something I'll never forget. Not every game is going to be a hit, but so far the good ones have been great and I imagine they'll only get better.

In addition to what game studios are doing with it, don't forget that others are doing amazing things with it by hooking it up to a PC and tinkering with the software.
