Construct a world with your hands

For those that don’t keep up with the PC indie gaming market, the name Minecraft might not ring a bell at first, but it’s time to get that bell ringing. Minecraft is a building block simulator type of game with the ability to construct entire worlds to your own desires, and one’s own mind is the only limit. If you can think it, then you can likely construct it in Minecraft, but don’t think that you can get away with anything too quickly; because for everything good that is built in Minecraft there is an equal opposite force lying in wait to tear it down.

The PC version of the game has seen massive castles and dungeons constructed that are constantly being attacked by invading evil forces, and even things like ride able rollercoasters have been constructed as well. Not only is it fun to just constantly build additions to your world, but these worlds can be shared online, giving the game a near unlimited amount of replay value.

While always thought to be a PC exclusive, Microsoft announced during its E3 press conference that the title will be making the leap over to the Xbox 360 with Kinect support this Winter. No details on how exactly Kinect support will be integrated into the game, but we will bring you any new information as soon as it’s released.

What will you build in Minecraft?

My 10 year old will be thrilled. He's been pestering me to purchase it for our desktop. Unfortunately, it's too archaic to even run Minecraft. Maybe it's time to put an xbox on his Xmas list...
