Kinect Fun Labs Out Now, Offers a Variety of Experiences

Microsoft has announced the first wave of many gadgets available in Kinect Fun Labs, a title that hopes to provide new experiences for Kinect gamers.

Developed using Epic Game's Unreal Engine 3, the first wave of Gadgets will include Kinect Me, Bobble Head, Kinect Sparkler, Build A Buddy and Kinect Googly Eyes. Epic Games' president Mark Rein spoke a bit about the decision to utilise the studio's game engine:

Unreal Engine 3 has been used for Kinect since day one... Unreal Engine 3 is powering the latest Kinect experiences which enable you to build an avatar in your likeness, play with bobbleheads, animate real life objects onscreen and be creative in the game environment in ways that we couldn't have imagined a few years ago.

Kinect Fun Labs is a collection of bite-sized applications and will allow gamers to perform player-captures, object scanning and finger tracking. The game will encourage players to use their imagination as they create art with their fingertips, turn themselves into bobbleheads and bring stuffed animals to life. New gadgets will become available and creations from friends can be rated.

Kinect Fun Labs is available today through Xbox Live.
