You're a star

As if High Voltage Software didn't have enough Kinect games on the go, what with Nicktoons MLB and Nickelodeon Dance, the studio's creating another licensed game for the sensor in the form of Victorious: Time to Shine.

Based on — you guessed it — a Nickelodeon show, the game lets players act, direct, sing and dance, so it should be just the ticket for parents of precociously talented youngsters. There'll also be "collaborative" two-player modes too, which hopefully means one of you as the director shouting instructions at the other player through a megaphone. It's sounding better all the time.

There's no proposed date for the game just yet, but let us slap a vague "quarter 4 2011" on it with our speculation glasses firmly on.

D3PUBLISHER ANNOUNCES THE FIRST VICTORIOUS VIDEO GAMES, BASED ON THE HIT NICKELODEON SHOW

Join the Victorious Cast at Hollywood Arts High School in New Video Games

LYON, FRANCE – 16 June 2011 – D3Publisher (D3P), a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, today announced a worldwide publishing agreement with Nickelodeon for video games based on Victorious, Nickelodeon’s hit live-action comedy series. Victorious: Time to Shine for the Kinect™ for Xbox 360® and Victorious: Hollywood Arts Debut for the Nintendo DS™ allows players to dive into the show’s fun and crazy Hollywood Arts High School world, create their own character and become a new student alongside Tori Vega and the Victorious cast!

“We are thrilled to partner with Nickelodeon to bring the highly successful Victorious television show to life,” said Bill Anker, vice president of business development and licensing, D3P. “Victorious: Time to Shine and Victorious: Hollywood Arts Debut will make fans feel like members of the show and offer an exciting, interactive experience where they can actually become friends with the cast and explore the exclusive Hollywood Arts.”

In Victorious: Time to Shine for the Kinect, players create a Hollywood Arts show where they act, direct, play an air instrument, sing, dance and star in a music video featuring hit songs from the series! The unique and hilarious setup allows players to decide their fate so they can rise to fame by earning a lead role in the Big Showcase, the biggest performance of the year!

The video games are based on Nickelodeon’s hit show, Victorious, the number-one live action comedy series in its timeslot on all TV with kids 6-11, tweens 9-14, and teens 12-17, reaching 14.4 million kids, 15.1 million tweens, and 11.4 million teens each quarter since it launched in April 2010. Players will feel as if they are a student at Hollywood Arts and the games provide voice acting by the original cast, including Victoria Justice, who stars in Victorious as Tori Vega.
