Speedy stuff

Kinect sold 1 million units in 10 days after launch and now, 25 days in, it's reached 2.5m sensors sold worldwide, maintaining its original momentum step for step.

This milestone now puts Microsoft halfway towards its sales target of 5m Kinect sensors sold before the end of 2010, though with arguably the biggest shopping day in North America now gone it could be a little touch and go. Don Mattrick, president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, isn't concerned however:

We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect, and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand.

Do you think Microsoft can hit 5 million sold worldwide in the remaining 32 days of 2010?

Definitely possible. Most people probably weren't looking to buy Kinects on Black Friday anyway, since they weren't on sale. Save that for a less crazy shopping day.

I doubt they could sell 5 million. Well, that's what I would say if it hadn't already quadrupled my expected sales :P

More Kinects mean more opponents for me in Kinect Sports!
